The first book, solely based upon the Avengers, was this novel featuring the pairing of Steed and Cathy Gale. (This is the only novel to feature Cathy Gale.) It was published by Consul books, who were a division of World Distributors, who are probably better known for the vast array of annuals, particularly TV related, that they produced throughout the 1960’s, 70’s and 80’s. As with all the paperbacks issued in connection with the Avengers, this is a totally new adventure using only the characters from the series, and being based upon no specific episode from the series.                                                     Original Price 2/6d
